W.T. "Bill" Peck

Lakeland- It is with great sadness that the family of W. T. “Bill” Peck announces his passing on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at his home in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 98 years. He was a World War II United States Army veteran, proudly serving his country from 1940-1945. He was born on June 9, 1920 in Calvert City, Kentucky to Thomas R. Peck and Arvil C. Downs-Peck. He was a resident of Lakeland, Florida since 1963. During his career he held a variety of positions related to the refrigeration service industry. In 1982 and 1984 he was named “Man of the Year” by the Sunshine State Association of the International Refrigeration Service Engineers Society and served as a mentor and teacher to many. He was a man of great integrity, strength, and character. He served God faithfully and was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Lakeland. Mr. Peck was preceded in death by his late wives: Edna Abbott Lyles-Peck and Doris Peck. He is survived by his nephew Doyle Griffin of Hawkins, Texas, nieces Lynelle Collier of Sebring, Florida, Linda Parrish of Parrish, Florida and his cousin Irmadean Pugh of Clermont, Florida. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801 with Dr. William McCabe officiating.
