Woodrow R. (Bob) Bass, 73 Retired Army National Guard Lakeland " Woodrow R. ""Bob"" Bass died on February 19, 2012 due to cancer. He was born in Columbus, GA on March 08, 1938. Bob was a freelance photographer and author of the following books; ""When Steamboats Reigned in Florida"", ""Stories from Fantastic Florida"", and ""The Big Mouth Bass & Recipes"". He is a retired military veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was current board member chair and 2010 president of Florida Outdoor Writers Association and member of the First Baptist Church of Highland City. He had many interests; aviation, fishing, boating, and volunteering at the Florida Air Museum (Sun N Fun). Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Ruby Bass, daughter, Paula Wise and great granddaughter, Brooklyn Grace Bosco. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda Bass, his children, Pepper Woods, Mike (Mona) Bass, Libbie Combee, Tami (Nick) Grabas, Brenda Scott, and Tim (Terry) Scott, grandchildren, Corie (Tony) Jones, Delana (John) Bosco, Mindy Woods, Bo (Sarah) Woods, Dylan Woods, Courtney Harbison, Jason (Amanda) Leland, Brittany Turner, Justin Cooper, Nathaniel Bass, Alex Bass, Dustin Thompson, Ryan Scott, Josh Scott, and Trent Garcia, seven great-grandchildren, his sister, Judy (George) Laws, and his brother, David Bass. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Heath Funeral Chapel. Services will be on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 AM at Heath Funeral Chapel.
