W. Waylon White, 69 Automobile Service Lakeland- W. Waylon White went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2011 just one day shy of his 70th birthday. The cause of death was heart failure. Mr. White was born in Coffee Springs, Alabama on June 17, 1941. He came to Florida around the age of 18 and has resided here since. After an injury sidelined his plans to become a funeral director, he spent most of his working life in the automobile service industry employed at various dealerships in Polk County. Although he retired at 62, he never stopped working. Until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer""s in 2005, he was always busy doing something. He will be missed by many. Waylon was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Jessie White; a sister Ohree Parrish; a brother H.T.(Boe) White; a grand-daughter Toni Marie White; and former wife Carol. He is survived by his loving wife Glenda, son, Radnel (Vickie) Lakeland, daughter, Brooke, Lakeland, daughter, Holly Denton, Milledgeville, Ga, stepsons, Phillip Hughes, Lakeland, Tim (Crystal) Hughes, Phillippe, W.VA, grandson, Devin Gibson, Auburndale and great granddaughter Alyssa White, Auburndale. He is also survived by sisters, Kate Byrd, Enterprise, AL, Merle Parrish, Enterprise, AL, brother, Earl (Vera) White, Pensacola, FL. and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Heath Funeral Chapel, Lakeland, FL on Monday, June 20, 2011. Visitation from 10 " 11 AM with service immediately following.
