William Maurice Hackett

William Maurice Hackett was born March 10, 1929, in Duluth, Minnesota and passed away on August 28, 2021, in Lakeland, FL. He spent many years in and loved the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He proudly served in the US Air Force and fought in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a devout Catholic and a proud member of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Lakeland, Florida. He fell in love with and married Faye De Guise and gained two sons in the bargain. Both sons survived him: Tim (Tammy) De Guise of Bland, Virginia, and Brian (Beth) De Guise of Bloomfield Township, Michigan. His family was very important to him, and he is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Many people knew and loved Bill. He was a very kind and generous man. He was known to be a very good storyteller and had a wicked sense of humor.
