William Calhoun (Bill) Swygert

WILLIAM CALHOUN "Bill" SWYGERT, 82 UNITED METHODIST MINISTER Lakeland - William Calhoun (Bill) Swygert, 82, died June 1, 2011 due to dementia complications. Bill faithfully served Florida United Methodist Churches for over 40 years in ten locations. He organized and pastored North Hialeah Methodist Church in 1953 and served in Tallahassee, North Miami Beach, Auburndale, Orlando, Palm Springs in Hialeah, Wauchula, Frostproof, minister of church growth at Pasadena in St. Petersburg, and Seffner in Tampa District. He retired to Lakeland in 1992. He is survived by his loving wife, Lola, and three children, Paul Swygert of Babson Park, Martha Ellingsworth of Orlando, and Mark Swygert of Tampa; five grandchildren : Jennifer Borondy, Nicole Ellingsworth, Nathan Swygert, Kelly McCullagh and Laura Swygert and four great grandchildren. Memorial services are scheduled for two times and two locations. First one will be Sunday, June 12, at 2:30 P.M. at the Estates at Carpenters Auditorium, 1001 Carpenters Way, Lakeland, and the second one Saturday, June 25 at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive, with a Columbarium committal following. Family requests in place of flowers, donations to the Children's Clothes Closet at First United Methodist Church.
