Wesley Courson, 87 C.F. Industries Lakeland " Wesley Courson, 87, was born in Douglas, GA on March 9, 1925 and passed away on January 11, 2013 due to heart failure. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Courson, his son, Ronald Courson, his mother, grandmother, and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Courson, his son, Tommy Courson (Margo), his daughter, Wanda Gartrell (David), seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He served in the military during World War II in Germany, earning the Bronze Star, Good Conduct medal, World War II Victory medal, American Theater Ribbon, and Eamet Service Medal. He was a surgical tech in the U.S. Army. He worked for C.F. Chemicals as a chief operator for 30 years. He was a member of Willow Oak Baptist Church. He loved his family, friends, building, traveling, fishing, and gardening. A service will be held at Willow Oak Baptist Church, 3390 Willow Oak Rd., Mulberry, FL 33860 on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11 am with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Oak Hill Burial Park.
