Walter Fink, Wards Air Conditioning Lakeland " Walter Fink passed away May 3, 2012 from complications from an aortic aneurysm. He survived by his wife, Patricia, two daughters, Linda (Tim) Rice and children, Emily and Ben, Carol (David) Mullins and children, Alex and Josh, sister, Adelaide Coyle and sister-in-law, Jo Anne Schiffert. Mr. Fink attended Penn State University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan and Korea as a Master Sergeant. Upon return to the United States, he was at Ft. Eustis, Virginia as the Post Sergeant Major. He was discharged in 1954 as Sergeant First Class then worked with his father in their family business. After the business was sold, he worked for Dravo Corporation as a sales engineer in Philadelphia and Cincinnati. In 1963 he was hired by General Electric Corporation in Harrisburg, PA and became Zone Manager in 1966, relocating to Philadelphia. In 1974, he bought Wards Air Conditioning, retiring from that company in 1993. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Florida Baptist Children""s Home, 1015 Sikes Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33815, the Humane Society of Polk County, 555 Sage Rd, Winter Haven, FL 33881, or the SPCA of Lakeland, 5850 Brannen Rd South, Lakeland, FL 33813.
