W.Clinton Wallace, 63 Attorney William Clinton Wallace, great father, husband and a counselor to many, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014. First and foremost in Clint""s life was his wife Leslie G. Wallace (deceased) who was loved by all who knew her and their two sons, Clinton G. Wallace and Chad M. Wallace. Clint was born on August 18, 1950 in Lakeland, Florida. He attended the University of Alabama, graduating in 1972 and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating with honors in 1975. Lucky for him and especially for his sons, he met Leslie during his freshman year at the University of Alabama. During law school he drove her back to the spot where they first met and proposed. Clint and Leslie moved to Orlando, Florida in 1975 where he began practicing Civil Litigation with the firm of Billings, Frederick, Wooten & Honeywell. In 1978 they moved to Lakeland and he became the General Counsel of American Resorts, Inc., which built several resorts on Hilton Head Island. A few years later he decided to return to his Civil Litigation practice and spent the vast majority of his professional career helping many clients as the sole shareholder of W. Clinton Wallace, P.A. An Eagle Scout himself, he shepherded his sons and several of their friends through Boy Scouts. He taught them about giving back in part through his work as one of the founding members of the Margarita Ball in Lakeland, his faithful offerings to his church and his work with many of the civic organizations in Lakeland. A few years after Leslie passed away in 2001 he found a companion in Cheryl Hardy, who he loved very much. Cheryl, Clint and Chad were with him when he passed peacefully of respiratory failure and would like to thank Dr. Attila Becsey and his team members at Tampa General Hospital for their efforts. His family, friends and church, First United Methodist in Lakeland, Florida, will host a memorial service for him on Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a contribution to The Florida Bar Foundation, via www.flabarfndn.org.
