Beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Monday May 10, 2021 in Lakeland, Florida at the age of 91. Virginia “Ginny” Lou (Ott) Pharis was born on August 23, 1929 to the late John and Arlene Ott in Saginaw, Michigan. She was previously married to the late Herbert Pharis. Ginny recently relocated to Florida after spending many years living in both Michigan and Nebraska where she was loved by all who knew her. Ginny was an avid proponent of giving greeting cards and always remembered everyone’s birthday among the dozens and dozens of family members and friends across the country. She loved her “little angels” of grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than words could ever express and placed so much value on the joy of a visit, a letter, a phone call, or good laugh with any of her family. She enjoyed playing BINGO, watching old movies, going to the casino or shopping, and all the treats and desserts she could try. Ginny is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Jerry) Dittmar; son, Michael (Anne) Pharis; sister Patricia Blazer; granddaughters Kari (Wesley) Boettger, Kayleigh (Jonathan) Dittmar, Tonya (Steve) Beccard, Meghann (Frank) Lowery, and grandson Michael (Sarah) Pharis as well as 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ginny also leaves behind many very special nieces and nephews whom she cared for very much, as well as friends at Osprey Manor of Lakeland, Florida and Keystone Senior living in Omaha, Nebraska. Ginny is preceded in death by her sisters, Frances, Sharon, Connie, Dorothy, and Nancy as well as her brother, Freddy as well as many dear friends and extended family. No services will be held at this time.
