Todd J. ""TJ"" Vail, 51 Security Officer Lakeland - Todd J. "TJ" Vail, 51, of Lakeland, FL., passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. TJ was born in Loveland, Ohio on September 25, 1963 to Alice (Webber) & Chuck Vail. He was a security officer with the US Securities Co. and his greatest passion was fishing. Freshwater or saltwater, TJ could always catch fish. He became known to his family and friends as the "Fish Whisperer". So therefore, his greatest joy was participating in the Kids Fishing Derby, hosted thru Deborah Haleran of the Plant City Recreation Dept. His other passion was music. TJ was able to share great memories at the Tampa Bay Blues Fest in Vinoy Park, where he worked security for about 20 years. There, he met numerous artists, including Tinsley Ellis, Walter Trout and Taj Mahal. Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy; his parents: Alice & Chuck Vail of Holiday, FL; his sons: Derrick C. Vail and Justin M. Laird; his brothers: David (Pam) Vail of Seminole & Kevin (Rochelle) Vail; a niece, Kristin Vail; his nephews: Seth Vail, Carl Freidank and Chris (Brandi) Freidank. A Memorial Service to celebrate TJ will be held on February 28, 2015 at 11:30am at the St. Peters Episcopal Church, 302 N. Carey St., Plant City, FL 33566. Arrangements are under the artful care of Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 South Ingraham Ave., Lakeland, FL 33801.
