Born January 31, 1973, Todd Brandonn Christian, a Virginia native, and a resident of Lakeland since boyhood, died in his sleep on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. He was 48. A proud graduate of Leadership Lakeland XIX, Todd served on the board of the Leadership Lakeland Alumni Association. Todd was also a past board member of Rotary, where he was inducted into the Rotary Hall of Fame, and he was a former board member of Historic Lakeland, having served two terms as president. Todd was currently serving on the VISTE (Volunteers in Service to the Elderly) Advisory Board. An aficionado of both American and Florida history, Todd studied political science and history at Southeastern University. He had a growing collection of presidential memorabilia, especially regarding the presidents from Virginia, as well as an enviable collection of Florida postcards, particularly ones from Lakeland. Professionally, Todd joined his father in 1996 to form The Joe Christian Group. They joined the Keller Williams Realty team in July 2011. At Keller Williams, Todd was awarded the Ed Piper Culture Award, recognizing his selfless dedication to both his office and fellow agents. For a quarter of a century, Todd was a member of the National Association of Realtors. Along this same line, Todd volunteered his time serving on the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. His affinity for classic cars, especially Mercedes, began when he started his own car detailing business as a teenager. Other interests included golf, reading, travel, grilling, and spending time with family and friends. Todd’s happy smile and warm greetings always preceded him wherever he went. Above and beyond his hobbies, volunteer work, and professional associations, Todd was a gentleman, a devoted follower of Christ, a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, husband, and father, never failing to call his daughter every night when she went away to college. Todd was thoughtful to his elders, loyal to his customers, gracious to his family and friends, and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Cecelia “Cece” Sweat Christian; his daughter, Adelaide Brock “Addie” Christian; his mother, JoAnne Fravel; his father, Joe Christian, and wife Gail; his sisters, Lauren Christian Gossen (Phil) and Ashleigh Christian Massey (Shannon) and brother Luke Christian. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Victory Church with a memorial service following at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 31, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Todd Christian Family and Education Fund at www.gofundme.com.
