TJ Andrews Lakeland " TJ Andrews age 81, of Lakeland, FL, and Mineral Bluff, GA., passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, in Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Andrews was born on October 11, 1934, in Bonifay, FL, the son of the late Ellie J. Andrews and the late May Singletary Andrews. He was a veteran of the US Army, and had retired from Crown Cork & Seal after many years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. TJ loved the Lord and reading the Bible. He attended the Mineral Bluff Baptist Church when in Georgia, and was a member of the First Community Church in Lakeland. Surviving TJ are his loving wife and best friend of sixty years, LaVerne Sheffield Andrews of Lakeland and Mineral Bluff; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sharon Andrews, and Mark and Debbie Andrews, all of Lakeland; two sisters, Ruth Miller and Nancy Lee, both of Bonifay, FL; two grandchildren, Jacob and Amanda Andrews; a host of church family; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 3:00 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel in Lakeland, with the Rev. Roy Lytle and Rev. Glenn (Skip) Speed officiating. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the First Community Church, 4425 County Road 540A, Lakeland, FL 33813, in memory of Mr. Andrews. The family will meet with family and friends at the Heath Funeral Chapel on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. Interment will follow in the Lakeland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
