Thomas Lund Freund

Thomas Lund Freund passed away on January 12th, 2024, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of natural causes.

Tom was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on May 5th, 1928, to Carl and Irene Freund. After graduation from High School in 1946, He enlisted in the army serving overseas in Korea until the end of World War 2. He then pursued his career, graduating from Iowa State with his Bachelor of Science degree.

Tom met and married Janet Wachtstetter in 1961 and on April 3rd, 1964, Theo was born. Together they lived happily until Janet’s untimely passing in 1970. Tom lived as a single parent until in May of 1987 he found love again in the person of Janyce Buchelt. They were married on November 28th, 1987. Together they were active in many aspects of ministry at Crestview Baptist Church.

Thomas Freund is survived by his wife, Janyce, his son Theo, and daughter-in-law Laura Freund. Rest In Peace, Tom, you will be missed.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 9:00 am at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801 with service to follow at 9:30 am. Graveside services at 1:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery.
