The Reverend Dr. Charles W. Burrows, 80 Hospital Chaplain Lakeland " The Reverend Dr. Charles W. Burrows, 80, was born on October 17, 1932 in Houston, TX and went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 due to a stroke. Charles was a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the first Chaplain at LRMC. He retired after 26 years of dedicated service to the Lord and his fellowman. He brought much joy and comfort to Lakelanders and his devoted family. He held a Bachelor of Arts degree, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, and Clinical Pastoral Education degree. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Association of Professional Chaplains. Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally, who passed in 1985, and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Betty, son Lee (Patti) Burrows, daughters, Lynda (Kimmie) Ownby and Becky Burrows, all of Lakeland, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his sister, Jean Gillette of Conroe, TX. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, from 5pm " 7pm at Heath Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held on May 3, at 11am at Oak Hill Burial Park.
