Terry Lee Butt

Terry Lee Butt, 61 Lakeland - Terry Lee Butt, 61, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was killed in a plane crash, a twin engine Piper Apache, in Lakeland, Florida. Terry was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, December 4, 1953. Terry graduated from McLean High School, McClean, Virginia, in 1971. Since the early 1990's, his career has been in aviation to include operating his own business, Premier Aviation Services. More recently, after relocating to central Florida, Terry was a flight instructor for Tailwheels, Inc. He was an accomplished pilot, achieving many advanced ratings to include-airplane single engine land, airplane multi-engine land, commercial privileges, type rating A/RA-390S, ATP, instrument airplane, flight instructor. And he was looking forward to getting his single engine seaplane rating this week. He was an active member of the QB's, an aviation fraternal organization. Terry enjoyed many activities and hobbies like boating, fishing, riding his motorcycles, but most importantly music and his passion for flying. His absolute 'pride and joy' was enjoying life with his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick William Butt. He is survived by his mother, Rena Butt; children, Terry Lee Butt, Jr. (Gina), Jarrad Parker Butt, Mary Margaret Lent and Robert John Northrup. In addition, he is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Jackson Alexander Butt, Madison Elizebeth Butt, Caitlyn Noelle Meussling, Savannah June Butt, Lilly Alice Butt, Gary John Lent Jr, Jordan Renee Lent, Robert John Northrup III, James Michael Northrup, William Joshua Northrup. Also surviving Terry is his sister, Nancy Lee Harris (Jim) and his brother, William Steven Butt. And finally, he leaves behind his fianc"ƒ""e, Suzanne Brown Gaines of Lakeland. He will be remembered at a memorial service Monday, January 26, 6:30PM, the QB hut at the Sun N Fun area, Lakeland Linder Airport.
