Shirley Mae Vanautreve Gray

Shirley Mae VanAutreve-Gray, 79 LAKELAND " Shirley VanAutreve-Gray passed into the loving arms of Jesus and Mary on November 1, 2012 at the age of 79 due to a short illness with cancer. Shirley was born in Woodstock, IL to Frank M. Jayne and Mildred F. Osborne. She worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone and retired from Harris Bank, Chicago, IL as a switchboard operator in 1989. Shirley also worked as a spiritual medium in both the Chicago IL and Lakeland FL area. Shirley enjoyed life to the fullest and lived her dream of retirement in sunny Florida. She had many friends that visited her, sent cards and called regularly through her illness. Shirley enjoyed lunch with her Sassy Pelicans, cards with friends, Village of Lakeland club house activities, music on Saturday nights, patrolling the park for CAP, her meditation and medicine wheel groups, and driving her pontoon boat. Shirley had many faithful dogs as companions. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Frank VanAutreve and Donald S. Gray, one brother Deforest Jayne, one sister Carolyn Griffin, one grandson Jason VanAutreve, two great grandsons Wayne Dean Jr. and Vincent Pistello. She is survived by four daughters and one son, Margie (late Harold) Dean, Millie (Ken) Luebbe, Josie (Jim) Pistello, Frank (Debbie) VanAutreve and Veronica (John) Sabol. Grandchildren Doreen Stevenson, Kim Alvarado, Jennifer Pistello-Maracich, Wayne Dean Sr., Michael Dean, Eric VanAutreve, James Pistello, Stacey VanAutreve-Gosciejew, Douglas Dean, Jeffery VanAutreve, Jacqueline Sabol and John Sabol. Great-Grandchildren Michael Spitzer, Phillip Espinosa, Nichole Boswell, Alex Ruffle, Kylie Alvarado, Sean O""Donnell, Amanda VanAutreve, Amber VanAutreve, Justin VanAutreve, Drake Boswell, Anthony VanAutreve, Daphane Pistello, Natalie Stevenson, Mackenzie Dean, Erin Pistello, Madaline Maracich, Andrew VanAutreve, Mea Dean, and Destiny VanAutreve. Please join the family for visitation on Monday November 5, 2012 at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 Ingraham Ave, Lakeland, FL from 4 " 6 pm. A traditional Catholic burial to be held in Chicago, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2393 E.F.
