Salvador Vincent Campisi Sr. went to be with the Lord on September 17th, 2024. Salvador was born July 21st, 1934, in Birmingham, AL to Anthony and Anne Campisi.
He attended Birmingham Southern and served in the Navy working on submarines during the Korean War. During the time he served, he received a medal for his service. Sal married the love of his life, Jean, in 1958 and started his career in the automobile business in 1960. Starting as a salesman in Birmingham, he soon after was given the opportunity to accomplish his dream of owning his own dealership. His first dealership was in Sylacauga, AL which he owned with his brother for 5 years. While honeymooning with his wife in Florida, he had a vision of moving there. He soon after found a dealership in Lakeland, FL. Starting with Pontiac and Honda, he began to grow the Regal Automotive Group that is still present in Lakeland today. During his years in Lakeland, he served on several boards, including LADA, Knights of Columbus, and the Resurrection Parish Council. He was thoroughly philanthropic to many local charities including Catholic Charities, Talbot House, Resurrection Catholic Church, and others. Sal had a heart for his community and spent his life investing back what he was blessed with. His faith was the pillar of his life, and he lived it out every day. Sal was a respected member of the community and a legend in the automobile business world. His legacy lives on in the employees and customers that he served throughout his life.
He loved his family dearly. He leaves behind his wife Jean of 66 years, his brother Nick (Carolyn) and his 5 children, Anne (Randy), Ginger (Rick), Jeanie, Sal (Sandra), and Renee. He also had 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anne, and brother Jarome.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 19th from 5-7 PM at Heath Funeral Chapel. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Friday, September 20th at 10:30 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church.
