Click to View Webcasting Ryan Michael Lumley Ryan Michael Lumley taken from us December 3, 2011. Ryan was born on May 8, 1990 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He moved with his family to Cedar Key Florida in 1998, where he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and building forts in the woods. He graduated from Cedar Key High School in 2008, where he still holds the school shot put record. He joined the Army in 2009 and completed his boot camp and AIT at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He was a proud graduate at Boot Hill in June of 2009. He was stationed following boot camp at Ft. Bliss in El Paso Texas where he excelled at his duties. Some of his awards included: National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Combat and Special Skill Badge Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge, Bar Weapon: Rifle (Inscription Rifle) Expert and Army service ribbon. He met the love of his life and was married in March 2010. Ryan was killed protecting his family, friends and country in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. He was a proud husband and soldier. Ryan will be eternally loved and missed. Ryan is survived by his wife, Kimber S. Lumley, Father, Michael R. Lumley, Mother, Jodi D. Barry, 2 brothers, Joshua R. Lumley and Ethan C. Barry, a sister, Camryn E. Lumley, Maternal grandparents, Gerald and Jane Dow, maternal grandmother, Anna McCarthy, stepmother, Kari Lumley, 2 step sisters, Heather and Brittany Ogle and a step brother, Jesse Ogle, many, many friends and his brother soldiers. His service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Heath Funeral Chapel. He will be buried at Florida National Cemetery following the services. His wife and mother will be presented his Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantryman""s Badge and other awards and ribbons at a memorial service on the 14th at Ft. Bliss, Texas where he was a proud member of the Action Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment. Ft. Bliss writes ""SPC Lumley will forever serve as an example of heart and dedication that will be the standard against which all measured in Action Company "". He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by his loved ones and Brothers in Arms""""I""ll Try Sir"".
