Russell Glenn Fullerton died April 6, 2025. Born in the coal mining town of Clymer, Pennsylvania on January 20,1932 to Glenn Fullerton and Caroline Kuntz he grew up in Punxsutawney, PA. After proudly serving with the Army Third Division in Korea and receiving a Purple Heart he came home to marry his high school sweetheart Joan Weaver. A drafting degree from Williamsport Technical School got him a job with Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven with whom he worked for 30 years. A move to Lakeland, Florida in 1975 led to a second career in Administrative Services with the city.
Along the way Russ and Joan had two daughters, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He loved all sports, especially baseball and his Tampa Bay Rays. He played golf twice a week well into his eighties. As a student of history, especially the American Revolution, he had a diverse collection of books on the founding of the country. He was a lifelong learner and avid Democrat until the end. He was funny and kind. The sort of person the world needs more of. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Katura Fullerton and Shirley Healy, grandson Taylor Lindgren and beloved wife Joan.
Survived by daughters Debra Fullerton (David Lindgren) and Donna Stewart (David), granddaughters Jenna Werner and Kelly Crews and three great grandchildren.
