Rudolf Paul Arndt (Rudi), a man of unwavering determination, relentless passion, and profound love, passed away on June 24, 2023, in Lakeland, Florida. Rudi was born on April 12, 1940, in Burgstatte, Germany, to his parents Paul and Dorothea Maurich Arndt.
At the age of 21, Rudi came to the United States with Porsche Automotive, seeking a new life after his family escaped the sorrows of World War II. He embraced an adventurous life of entrepreneurship, surrounded by cherished friends and family. Rudi played a pivotal role in the development of his company, International Traffic Systems, and dedicated himself as a youth soccer coach for Lakeland Senior High School. Rudi was a man of deep faith, having earned a degree in Theology from Southeastern College, where he met his beloved wife, Bonnie Etheridge. Together, they embarked on a lifelong journey with God, creating a home filled with celebration, warmth, and love.
Rudi is preceded in death by his brothers, Bernhardt and Walter Arndt, and sister Anneliese Funke. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughters Regina (Al) and Heidi, sons Hans (Tiffiny) and Benz, granddaughter Tessa, sister Hildagard Rittner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Tribute/Visitation will be held at Cleveland Heights Golf Course, Lakeland, FL on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
