Roney Lewis Slama, 90 Pastor Lakeland " Roney Lewis Slama passed away Monday December 15, 2014. She was born on April 30, 1924 in Slayden, Tennessee. From a large family, Roney was a very caring and loving person, spending time caring for her parents in their later years. Roney was one of the first female photographers in the Tennessee area, taking photos of military men in WWII. After moving to Lakeland in 1962 with her husband and children, she became very active in her community. She was an airplane pilot and a member of the Women""s Pilot Club. Roney was active with the American Cancer Society and American Business Women""s Association. She owned and ran The Central Florida Talent Agency in the 1970""s. She became an Ordained Minister in the 1980""s and held church services out of her home. Roney loved the Lord and lived her life as an example of that. She was a loving wife and mother, always involved in her children""s lives. Known for her beautiful smile, she will be greatly missed. She is predeceased in death by her husband Jerry J. Slama D.D.S. Roney is survived by daughter Holly Slama Hynds (Steven), Son, Jerry David Slama (Stanley), Granddaughter Stephanie Hynds, Granddaughter Holly Nicole Lopez (Alberto), Great grandson Adrien Lopez, and many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held Saturday December 20, 2014 from 10-11 am at Heath Funeral Chapel with a Service to follow at 11:00am.
