Ronald Alan Puckett

Ronald Alan Puckett, 55 Southeast Turf Partners Lakeland " Ronald Alan ""Slim"" Puckett died June 19, 2015 suddenly due to cardiac arrest. He was born February 19, 1960 in Lakeland. Alan is the son of William Ronald Puckett and Edith Wood Puckett who predeceased him. He is survived by Sisters Karen Merritt (Billy) and Sheila McElwee, Nephews Brandt Merritt (Kristy), Kyle Merritt (Andrea), and James McElwee. Alan was employed by Southeast Turf Partners as a Territory Manager. He lived in Winter Haven. He served as President of the Ridge Chapter Florida Golf Course Superintendent Association, and Florida Turf Grass Association. Alan was a lifelong member of both as well as Golf Course Superintendent Association of America. He also served on numerous committees promoting the turf grass industry. Alan was known by his friends as ""Slim"". He loved fishing, Nascar, the Gators, his family and especially his dog Roscoe. He was loved by everyone whom he met, and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Boys and Girls Club of Lakeland 1525 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue, Lakeland, Florida, 33805. This is a charity Alan was actively a part of. He was well known for his yearly ""Slimfest"" party where he raised money to donate to the Boys and Girls Club of Lakeland.
