Roland (Ron) C. Lake died on January 17, 2016, at Good Shepherd Hospice from complications associated with pneumonia and COPD. A native Lakelander, he was an above-average bowler at Lakeland Lanes, and a charter member of the Lakeland Hawg Hunters Bass Club. Mr. Lake volunteered for many FHSAA events, the ""chain gang"" for Lakeland Dreadnaughts football games, and for numerous Lakeland Sertoma Club projects. Many may remember him bartending at Dixie Bar, having breakfast and lunch at Fat Jack""s Deli-Pub, and for serving as a crossing guard for 25 years with the Polk County Sheriff""s Department, Lime Street Elementary, and Lakeland High School. He loved people. He loved kids. He was a good person, and is with his Lord. Mr. Lake was preceded in death by his Mother, Lola Lee Lake, and his Father, R.C. Lake. He is survived by his three sons: Robert (Rob) Lake and wife, Cyndee, of Georgetown, TX, Rodney (Rod) Lake and wife, Marci, of San Jose, CA, and Ronald (Ron) Lake and wife, Diane, of Pottstown, PA; his brother, Charles S. Lake and wife, Marily; and his grandchildren: Allison Lake Jacobson and Jason Lake. He also is survived by his cousins: Ann Lake Whitehead of Bartow, and Lori Bond of Moore Haven, FL; and his niece, Jennifer Lake Rutledge of Lakeland. He will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 5 pm with a service following at 6 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel 328 South Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801.
