Rodney Clos

November 25, 1956 — July 22, 2023

Rodney Keith Clos, age 66, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Tampa General Hospital. Rod was born November 25, 1956, in Maysville, KY to Richard and Edna Clos. He married Tamara Cook of Maysville, KY on August 8, 1976.


He is survived by his wife, Tamara; sons, Shaun Clos of West Chester, OH and Kyle (Starr) Clos of Bartow, FL; grandchildren, Austin (Nicole) Clos of Elsmere, KY, Jhaida Clos and Braden Clos of Lakeland, FL, Zane Clos of West Chester, OH; brothers, Stephen (Lorrie) Clos of Wake Forest, NC, Ricky and Kevin Clos of Falmouth, KY; sisters, Debi (Ken) Thompson of Goshen, OH, Pam Ammerman of Falmouth, KY, Rhonda Kutcher of Union, KY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Edna Ried and Richard and Nellie Clos; brothers, Monte Clos, and Denny Fenner; and sister, Tammy Stewart.


Rod was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of Lakeland Bassmasters. Rod also fished the MLF/Toyota Series Fishing Trail. He was a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan and loved the UK Wildcats. Rod worked in automotive dealerships in the area from 1987 as a salesman, general sales manager, and finance director. He retired from Winter Haven Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in 2018.


Even though Rod was unable to receive his organ transplant, he and his family would like to encourage everyone to consider becoming an organ donor.


A visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm.
