Robert Walton

Robert John Walton Lakeland- Robert “Bob” Walton was born in Salzburg, Austria, to Daryl and Jacqueline Walton on August 7, 1953. He spent much of his youth in Watertown, New York, where eventually he met his wife Diane. After they were married, he and his wife moved to Florida in hopes of laying down roots closer to the beach. In 1977, Bob was hired by the City of Lakeland, eventually becoming the manager of the Water Production department. He retired after 29 years of service. He loved sports, especially basketball and football. He was an avid Florida Gators fan. Some of his favorite things to do were to go to the beach and spend time with his beloved family. He was fondly referred to as Pops or Mr. Bob. He was the “Life of the Party," and in general just a big kid at heart. He was generous and he never met a stranger. Bob was a “Jack of all trades, master of none” and was always willing to go out of his way to help people any way he could. He was a lover of animals and had a gentle soul. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daryl and Jacqueline Walton He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Walton; his daughter, Heather Bowman (Jason); his son, Michael Walton (fiancé, Athena Warlen); one grandson, Bailey Bowman; 2 brothers, Michael Walton (Lise), and Tony Walton (Laurie); and several nieces and nephews.
