Robert Tidwell

Robert Tidwell, age 83, Lakeland – Robert Tidwell, age 83, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida. Born on December 20, 1934 in Hamilton County, Florida he was the son of the late Carl and Eunice Tidwell. Robert grew up on a farm in Hamilton County, attended Jennings High School, and served in the United States Marine Corps. He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Rollins College and worked for Mine and Mill Supply Company, where he served as President, until his retirement. He often said that the best decision he ever made was marrying Virginia Jenkins in 1956 and that his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Tidwell, and his brother, DL Tidwell. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Tidwell of Lakeland, and his son, Robert Tidwell (Geri) of Winter Haven. He is also survived by his sisters: Louise Waters, Ellen Stidham, and Pat Chandler (Danny); brothers: Corbett Tidwell (Pat), and Windell Tidwell (Debi); grandchildren: Ashley Baucom Aycock (Michael), Robbie Baucom (Sara), Tyler Tidwell (Emily), Megan Tidwell, and Connor Tidwell; great-grandchildren: Finley and Sydney Aycock, Landon Eckland, and Morgan Baucom. Visitation will be on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL. The funeral service will be on at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 a.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel with Dr. Darin Kress of Scott Lake Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US Hwy 98 South, Lakeland, FL.
