Robert Macdowell Boulware, Jr

Robert “Mac” MacDowell Boulware, Jr., 84, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living. Born November 4, 1938, in Leesburg, Florida, he was the son of the late Robert MacDowell Boulware, Sr., and Laura Hobbs Boulware. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Henry.

Mac retired from the Polk County Schools as a math and chorus teacher. He lived by the words: “Excellence in all things, and all things to the Glory of God.” As such, he took part in many organizations through the years, having retired as the Director of Fine Arts Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, FL; and was the founder of the Lakeland Choral Society.

Mac is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Carol Carter Boulware of Lakeland; brother, Jon Boulware (Deborah) of Altoona, FL; son, Robert “Rob” M. Boulware, III of Lakeland; his

daughter, Michelle Holseth (Eric) of Lakeland; grandson, Christian “Chris” Holseth of Lakeland; and granddaughter, Jordan Holseth of Palm Bay, FL.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801. Reception follows in the Welcome Center.
