Robert Lee Johnson, known to family and friends as “Rocky,” was called home to Heaven, July 25th, 2018, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 63. He was born September 24th,1954, to Thomas and Marie Johnson. He attended and graduated from Kathleen Senior High School in 1972. He married his loving wife on March 31st, 1979. He worked as a salesman for John Goddard Produce and as a bus driver for the Polk County School board. He loved the Lord and lived his life in service to Him. He attended Victory Church in Lakeland. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Florida Gators fan. He loved his family and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed watching cartoons with his grandchildren. He also never met a stranger and could spend hours talking to people. Rocky is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandy; their three children, Robert Johnson, Jr. (Cindy), Joshua Johnson (Christy) and Elizabeth Meeks (Faron), all of Lakeland; as well as four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Hunter, Madison and Abigail; his mother, Marie Johnson, of Lakeland; his siblings, Marietta (Mike), Gwen, Evelyn and Eddie, all of Lakeland; his Aunt Arlene, Uncles David and Gene, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also is survived by his mother-in-law, Judith Messer (JP); sisters-in-law, Julie (Mike) and Patty (Jim); and his niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas L. Johnson; his father-in-law, Dayton Stivers; both his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his Aunts, Sandra and Betty. Memorial services will be held August 4th, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Griffin Baptist Church, 3225 Kathleen Road in Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lighthouse Ministries in Lakeland. “As long as I live, you will live. As long as I live, you will be remembered. As long as I live, you will be loved.”
