Robert George Thomas Johnson

February 12, 1945 — February 11, 2021

Robert George Thomas Johnson (1945-2021) was a retired U.S. Navy corpsman and Vietnam veteran. He was a stubborn but sensitive man who taught his sons the value of thoughtfulness and empathy. He was very passionate about putting his woodworking and carpentry skills to use as a leader in various youth groups growing up. With his leadership and guidance, he led youth into the community to help build or repair homes for those who couldn’t afford it. He was the type to give even when he had little or nothing. When he wasn’t in the Navy, he spent time as a Social Worker because he just didn’t know how not to help others, that was just his nature. He is preceded in his death by his wife of 49 years, Denise, and son, Seth. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Garrick and Teresa Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Zac and Michelle Johnson; grandson, William Johnson; granddaughters, Bella and Noelani Johnson; sisters, Jeanann Georgianna, Robin Ramos, and Elizabeth LoVullo; and brothers, Frederick Johnson and Eagle Johnson. Memorial services will be held at a later date to accommodate those that are uncomfortable traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice of Lakeland or to Urban Plunge c/o St Catherine’s Catholic Church, 1649 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.
