Robert "Bob" George Thiel

Winter Haven – Robert “Bob” George Thiel passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleta Aileen Thiel. Born March 22, 1928, in the smalltown of Johnsburg, IL, he was a son of the late Jacob and Melania Miller Thiel. His father, Jacob, the father of 6 sons, taught the carpentry field to them. In 1955, Bob and his brother, Don, began what would become one of the largest shell/truss construction companies in America, “Carpenter Contractors of America Inc.”, providing tens of thousands of job opportunities in several states. Mr. Thiel was United States Army WWII Veteran. Survivors include 4 children, Abby A. Dearing (Ken), Billy D. Fritsch, Jr., (Tracy Hruska), Robert Thiel, Jr. (Corrine) and Mary Rohleder (Paul), 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
