Robert Andrew Goitiandia

Robert Andrew Goitiandia, 68, of Lakeland, FL passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2024.

Robert was born in Newark, NJ and was raised in Irvington until his family moved to Union, NJ.

Robert attended Union High School. He earned an Engineering associate degree at Union College of Union, NJ and attended additional course study at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Robert worked prior to a long term disability at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a John & Jonson Co. in Raritan, NJ for over 10 years as technical support for medical devices. Prior to that he worked for many years in Quality Assurance in the defense industry for the Singer Company, Totowa, NJ. There he met his friends Thomas Smith and Anthony Fierro with whom he enjoyed many talks from Florida.

He is predeceased by both parents, Peter and Helen Goitiandia, sister Linda Hetem and Uncle Jack Goitiandia.

Robert will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary Ann Goitiandia and his other family survivors, stepmother Venera Goitiandia, brother Peter Goitiandia, sister Deborah Goitiandia, Aunt Lucy Goitiandia, and cousins Jack, Michael, and John Goitiandia.

Robert had varied interests including traveling with his spouse to National Parks and Disney World. He also had great times with his cousins going “down the shore” to Ortley Beach, NJ. He loved going to the movies, a true cinephile. He also enjoyed photography and computer technology. Robert was a history buff and model railroad enthusiast. He was a true patriot and loved to argue politics with whomever he met.

The visitation will be at Heath Funeral Chapel, Lakeland, FL on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Funeral services will follow immediately at the Heath Chapel. The burial will be at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital would greatly be appreciated.
