Richard Booth U.S. Coast Guard Officer (retired) Lakeland: Richard Loring Booth, 62, of Lakeland, died on June 27, 2013 from heart failure. Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 15, 1951. He moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1963. Richard graduated from Lakeland High School and the University of Florida. He served in the United States Coast Guard for twenty years and retired as a Lieutenant Commander. After retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard, under the Troops to Teachers Program, he taught science at Mulberry Middle School for five years. Currently, Richard was working as an Environmental Specialist for the Tampa Port Authority. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Charlotte Booth. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Marilyn Booth, daughter Emily Booth, son Steven Booth and wife Gwynne, sister Kathy Luther, and brother Robert Booth. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 5:30-7:30 P.M at Heath Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. with visitation one hour prior at First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801.
