Ralph G. ""Buddy"" Grassfield, Jr., 92 Vacuum Cleaner Sales & Repair Lakeland- Mr. Ralph G. ""Buddy"" Grassfield, Jr., he went home to be with Lord on September 30, 2015 at his home. He was born October 21, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Jacksonville and received Christ at the age of 17 at a Boy Scout Camping trip. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in High School. While attending the University of Florida he played the trumpet in the marching band and was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a tail gunner on a B-24 Bomber in the 801st Bomb Group. He was an avid fisherman and loved taking trips to the Everglades. He also made furniture for his family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at the Mall and attended a weekly Bible study at St. David""s Episcopal Church for over 40 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Miriam Grassfield. Survivors include, 2 daughters, Ann Grassfield, Gail (Joe) Christian, 6 grandchildren, Todd (Cece) Christian, Lauren Christian, Jason (Monica) Yates, Jessica (Chad) Kostella, Ashleigh (Shannon) Massey, Luke Christian, and 7 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Ministries, 215 East Magnolia Street, Lakeland, Fl. 33801. Gravesides Services will be held on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Burial Park.
