Quintine (Tina)Nesmith Barnett, age 89, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025, at Hawthorne Inn in Lakeland, Florida. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, real estate broker, investor and secretary. Mrs. Barnett was born in Cochran, Georgia to Rufus and Willie Bell Nesmith on January 01, 1936. She moved to Springhead, Florida and graduated from Plant City High School, attended Hillsborough Community College and moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1954. She was the wife of the late Donald H. Barnett for 54 ½ years. She was also a hospital volunteer, a charter member of Crestview Baptist Church in Lakeland where she taught Sunday School and a longtime member of First Baptist Church at the Mall. She loved to saltwater fish, snorkel and scuba dive with her family. She was an avid walker and worked out with weights often.
Tina is survived by her beloved children, son Ted Brian Barnett, and his wife Iris Barnett of Stuart, Florida. Her youngest son, Brent Alan Barnett and his wife Monica Barnett of Lakeland, Florida. Her grandson, Christopher Brian Barnett, his wife Jessica and two great granddaughters, Isabella and Ellie May of Palm City, Florida. She is preceded in death by sisters Kathleen, Sybil, Ellen, and brothers, David, Jimmy, Moss, and Raymond.
The family will receive loved ones and friends on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Lakes Church Chapel (formerly First Baptist Church at the Mall) at 1010 East Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida. The service will follow from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Compassionate Care Hospice or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
