Patricia Ann Smith, 71, of Lakeland, FL, passed away at 12:45 pm, Friday, October 23, 2020, at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers hospital in Crystal River, FL. She was born on November 21, 1948 in Manhattan, NY, to Paul and Virginia Malpica. She grew up in Greenpoint Brooklyn, NY. Married her first Husband Harry Borrero Jr. in 1967 and moved to the home they built in Mastic Long Island in 1977, where she lived for 19 years. She married her second husband Jerome J Smith in 1990 and they moved to their current home in Lakeland Florida in 2004. She spent most of her career in banking, but also spent some time as a licensed hairdresser and a school bus driver for disabled children and adults. Patricia is survived by her husband, Jerome J. Smith of Lakeland, FL, Son Harry V. Borrero of Inglis, FL, Daughter Melinda (Kenneth) Hasbrouck of Milford, NY, Stepsons Jerome Smith of San Clemente, CA, Keith (Yessenia) Smith and their sons Matthew, Ethan, and Dylan, of Islip, NY, Stepdaughter Denise (Keith) Obenauer of Uniondale, NY. She is also survived by her brothers Vincent P. Malpica of Lakeland, FL, and Nicholas (Nancy) Charnetzky of Palm Coast, FL, Grandson Vincent (Yvonne) Borrero and their two sons Carson and Carter of Carson, VA, Granddaughter Amber (Tanner) Williams and their daughter Madeline of Milford, NY, Niece Nicole (Austin) Bruno and their two sons Addison and Nolan of Estero, FL, as well as many other nieces/nephews (through marriage) as well as several cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents and one son, Nicholas Edward Borrero. Pat loved to read, paint ceramics, crochet, look at Facebook, and watch reality shows. She had a great sense of humor. What she loved the most was spending time with her loved ones which also included her beloved Chihuahuas Jake, Maggie, and Brin. The viewing will be held this Wednesday October 28, 2020 at Heath Funeral Chapel and Crematory from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. The service will then begin 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. Live streaming through the funeral home will be available for those who cannot attend in person. We welcome all that can make it to attend. Please wear your mask and follow social distancing guidelines to keep everyone safe.
