Myrtle Eunice Hurlburt

September 10, 1923 — December 9, 2015

Myrtle Eunice Hurlburt 9/10/23 - 12/9/15 Myrtle Hurlburt, the second daughter of Isabella and Walter Main, was born September 10, 1923, in New Britain, CT. She was a graduate of Plainville (CT) High School and served as a member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) during WWII. Myrtle was married to Robert Hurlburt, a high-school classmate, for 60 years. They raised three daughters in West Hartford, CT, where Myrtle was employed at BlumShapiro accounting services. Following Robert's death in 2007, Myrtle found love again and, in 2010, married S. Clyde Watkins of Lakeland, FL. During her adult life, Myrtle was an active member of the First Baptist Church of West Hartford (CT) and, later, the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church of Punta Gorda (FL) and Westminster Presbyterian Church of Lakeland (FL). She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, and she enjoyed camping with family and friends, driving vacations, knitting, crossword puzzles, and volunteering in the library at Florida Presbyterian Homes. Myrtle leaves behind her loving husband, Clyde, and his wonderfully supportive family; her daughters and sons-in-law Gwendolyn and Richard Devine of Waterbury, VT, Marilyn and George Cushman of Washington, DC, and Barbara and Michael Foley of Hopkinton, NH; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2 pm, at Glenn Moore Chapel, Florida Presbyterian Homes, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "Loving Care Fund" at Florida Presbyterian Homes or your favorite charity. Service: 12/15/2015 Glenn Moore Chapel - Florida Presbyterian Homes 16 Lake Hunter Drive, Lakeland, Fl 33803
