M.P. ""Pat"" McArthur Milton Patrick ""Pat"" McArthur, 88, of Lakeland passed away peacefully on June 29. He was born in Bascom, FL and graduated from FSU with a degree in Geology. His career in the phosphate industry for over 35 years included positions at Davidson Chemical Co., W.R. Grace & Co. and culminated as VP and GM for Occidental Chemical Co. in Lake City. He and his wife of 47 years, Myra, then moved back to Lakeland and enjoyed an active life with many close friends and family before Myra passed away in 1997. His life did not stand still, however, as he enjoyed all that life offered with growing grandchildren, old friends and new ones. Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Myra, and his brother Jimmy McArthur. He is survived by his daughter Phala McArthur Amey (Dayton), Bradenton, FL, daughter Amy McArthur Hester (Ben), Columbus, OH, four grandchildren, Erin Amey (Chris Killoran), Cameron Amey (fiance Allie Mazzia), Caitlin Smith (Evan) and Maggie Hester; brother Mike McArthur; sisters Mary Lou Hughes, Bessie Nieto, Lelia Wolfe; and many others in a large extended family. Visitation will be Saturday July 4, 11am " 1pm at Pat's home at 6712 Crews Wood Lane, Lakeland, followed by a private family service.
