Milford Ernest \"Buster\" League, 83 Lakeland, FL - Milford Ernest \"Buster\" League, 83, passed away from septic shock Monday, December 23, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland with his family by his side. Buster was born October 19, 1930 in San Marcos, Texas, the youngest of two children of the late Milford and Ruby (Gray) League. He graduated from Pearsall High School in Pearsall, Texas in 1948. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict on the USS Everglades. After his discharge, he graduated in 1957 from Southwest Texas State Teachers College (Texas State University-San Marcos) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. In 1960, Buster married Sue Wason and they began their life together in Houston, Texas. He was employed by Gould\'s Pumps, Inc. for 25 years in sales and general management. His career with Gould\'s Pumps brought him and his family to many places across the country, including Baton Rouge, LA, Seneca Falls, NY, Costa Mesa, CA, back to Seneca Falls, NY and on to Tulsa, OK. During his career with Gould\'s Pumps, he would consider his most noteworthy accomplishment to be his involvement in the company\'s United Way of Seneca County campaign in 1983. He recorded a song titled \"Helping Crystal Walk\" which was used to raise funds for the medical needs of young Crystal. After retiring from Gould\'s Pumps, Buster and Sue moved from Tulsa, OK to Lakeland, FL in 1990, where he acted as General Manager of Southern Machinery Corp. Upon completing his services with Southern Machinery, Buster started a consulting business, MELCON Inc, and continued to work until the age of 81. Buster had a passion for life and all living things. He cared for plants, birds, rabbits, deer and his beloved pet dogs, Bruin and Buttons. He made friends everywhere he went, young and old alike, and was forever loyal to his family and friends. His motto was, \"Life is good!\" Surviving is his loving wife, Sue, of 53 years; daughter Suellen (John) Englhardt; son James Benton League; sister Margaret Southworth; 1 niece and 4 nephews; and 2 grandchildren. Buster was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruby and Milford League. A memorial service celebrating his life will be on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Heath Funeral Chapel in Lakeland, FL at 2:00 in the afternoon with reception to follow at the Heath Funeral Chapel Tribute Center.
