Melba Mae Arndt

Melba Mae Arndt, 94, of Lakeland, passed away January 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Arndt. Born May 12, 1926, in Topton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Hattie Moyer Heffner. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Minerva Madiera; and brother, Sterling Heffner. Mrs. Arndt was a longtime member and retired organist at Shepherd Rd. Presbyterian Church, in Lakeland. Survivors include her two sons, Dale (Vicki) Arndt, and Chris (Peggy) Arndt; four grandchildren, Michelle (Ike) Hughes, Lori (Christopher) Hodges, Brooke (Mike) Mayers, and Bryce (Mari) Arndt, and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30am Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, by Pastor Ike Hughes. Masks are required and occupancy is 50 people. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Shepherd Road Presbyterian Church, by Pastor Jeff. Social distancing guidelines with 100 person occupancy and masks are appreciated. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Shepherd Road Presbyterian Church.
