Maurice ""Chuck"" Doughten, 80 Structural Steel Iron Worker Lakeland: Maurice ""Chuck"" Doughten, 80, of Lakeland, FL Went home to the Lord on October 16, 2011. He had liver and pancreatic cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 15, 1930. Chuck was a veteran of the Korean Conflict earning the Bronze Medal with V for valor. He was a Structural Steel Iron worker for 60 years in Brooklyn, NY for the Local 361. He was also apprentice coordinator and recording secretary in New York and taught apprentice school for 30 years. After retiring to Lakeland, FL, he taught in Tampa at the apprentice school Local 397 for 16 years. He is survived by his wife Teryl Ann Doughten of Lakeland; daughter Patricia Picone (Victor) of Hewlett, NY; son Glen Doughten (Denise) of Oceanside, NY; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sister Virginia Zoccoli (Fred) of Riverhead, NY: brother Thomas Doughten (Roberta Rooney) of West Paterson, NJ; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday October 27, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph""s Catholic Church.
