Martin William Mason, Jr.

Martin W. Mason, Jr, 86 Watkins Motor Lines Lakeland - Martin W. Mason, Jr. passed away on December 10 at Hawthorne Inn of Lakeland at age 86. He was born May 15, 1931 in Bronx, New York to Martin and Irene Mason. He grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. Martin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fl in 1961 and was a certified CPA. He was a financial analyst for the Jacksonville Electric Authority before moving to Lakeland in 1980. He retired as budget director at Watkins Motor Lines. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, and golf. Martin was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife, Sharolyn of 37 years; three children, Martin W. Mason III (Jane) of Palatka, Fl, Shirley Allen (Gary) of Jacksonville, Fl, and Linette Shaw of Jacksonville, Fl, and stepson Jeff Booth (Geri) of Tampa, Fl; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. A celebration of his life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church of Lakeland, Florida on January 6, 2018 at 1:00pm.
