Marilee Harper Trask, 92 Marilee Harper Trask was born on February 3, 1923 in Dublin, GA to James and Carrie Harper. They moved to Lakeland when Marilee was 3 months old. She graduated from Lakeland Senior High School before attending Stetson University. Marilee was married to former Mayor George Warren Trask, Sr. for 68 years before his death. They joined First United Methodist Church where they became extremely active members. Marilee served on numerous boards and sang in the choir. She enjoyed playing bridge and being active in her community, serving on the board of the Imperial Symphony, was active in the Polk Museum and numerous other community boards. Marilee was preceded in death by her sisters Carolyn Harper, Margaret Harper, Louise Bryson and brother James Harper. She is survived by her four children, George W. "Zip" Trask, Jr., Lakeland, Robert B. Trask, II, Leesburg, Margaret "Maggie" Trask, Lakeland, Donna "DJ" Schwab, Illinois, and grandchildren George "Rip" Trask III, Kimberlee Mayes, PJ Travin, Joshua Kowalczik and Danny Kowalczik. She also has 6 great grandchildren. Up until her death Marilee enjoyed family dinners every Sunday after church. A funeral service will be held Saturday May 16th at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary with a reception to follow.
