Margaret Reitz Loftheim

Margaret Reitz Loftheim, 92 Homemaker Lakeland " Margaret Reitz Loftheim, born September 12, 1919 in Salem, Oregon, went to be with her Lord on October 21, 2011. She was 92 years old. She attended the University of Oregon and kept up with their football until the end. She was married to her husband, LTC (Ret) Haakon L. Loftheim, during World War II and remained an Army wife until his retirement. After her husband""s retirement, they moved to Clearwater, FL. During her married life, while raising two boys, she worked for Civil Service, Honeywell Corp and the Social Security Administration. She was an active member in the Pasco Republican Party. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 64 years, LTC (Ret) Haakon L. Loftheim and her son, 1st Lieutenant Dennis Dean Loftheim, her mother, Edna Brown Reitz, her father Elmer Reitz, and her brothers, Edgar and Emery Reitz all of Salem, Oregon. She survived by her son, COL (Ret) Jon W. Loftheim and his wife, Meg of Lakeland, FL. and a grand-daughter, Inger Loftheim Rood and her husband, Douglas and their three children, Preston, Tucker, and Hudson of Ponte Verde, FL. and a grandson, Dennis H. Loftheim and his wife, Alison of Playa Del Rey, California. We want to thank all the pastors who visited our mother for the last several years and especially during these past few days for their continued support, warmth and prayers. Her family and friends knew well her warmth and great cookies. No matter who you mentioned her name to, the response was always the same, ""What a perfect lady in every fashion."" ""We will miss our mom and our Marna!"" The family will celebrate her life in a private service and burial with her husband at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Services being arranged by Heath Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice
