Margaret Elizabeth Reiber

November 9, 1925 — September 1, 2021

Margaret Elizabeth (Beth) Reiber fell asleep and awoke to eternal life with Jesus on September 1, 2021. She was 95 years old and through God’s faithfulness, was the epitome of a “life well lived.” Beth was a lifetime resident of Lakeland, Florida. She was born on November 9th, 1925, to Claude D. McIntosh Sr. and Rosa Elizabeth McIntosh. Claude and Rosa had three children—Claude D. McIntosh Jr., Evalina Frost, and Beth—all of whom are now reunited and worshipping together in heaven. While God’s love is sufficient for us all, He granted Beth with earthly love manifested in her marriage to her beloved husband, Alvin A. Reiber. They married on Valentine’s Day, 1955, in the McIntosh family home on Riggins Street. She enjoyed 25 years with Alvin before he was called to his heavenly home. Through their marriage, they welcomed three children—2 boys and one baby girl who was called to her heavenly home shortly after birth. Fred Reiber was their first-born and David Reiber was the youngest. David married his love, Connie, and from their marriage, Beth was blessed with two grandchildren, Jonathan Reiber (Ashley) and Rosa Reiber Glombicki (Justin). From Jonathan and Ashley, Beth was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren and numerous foster great-grandchildren. Beth was always busy and on the go! She was happiest when she was around people. From learning to cook with her mother and passing along those talents to her son and granddaughter, adventuring to DeLand and Daytona to visit her family when she was a young girl, working in the City Manager’s Office at Lakeland’s City Hall for many years and the Fruit Basket in Bartow, raising two boys of her own, fostering numerous children in her home, caring for generations of children in the church nursery, protecting and caring for all animals, creating adventures for her children and grandchildren, tending her garden, mowing her own lawn until the age of 90, showing off with her amazing southern cooking and lemon meringue pie baking…the list goes on and on. She was constantly showcasing her love, care, and creativity in everything she did. She was such a light in our lives and shaped us into who we are today. We are so thankful for the gift of her life and are even more grateful for the gift of eternal life and the promise that she has been made new with Jesus. Please join us in celebrating her life and praising God for all the gifts she was given which helped her to serve others and further the Kingdom of Heaven. Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland, Florida, on Friday, September 10th. Visitation will begin at 1 pm with a service to follow at 2 pm. Graveside service and interment to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Children’s and Nursery Ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church (210 Poppell Dr, Lakeland, FL 33813), where Beth was a charter member and served and took care of children for many years. To God be the glory!
