Marcus George Bassford, Jr

Marcus George Bassford Jr., Born April 11, 1936, transitioned to Heaven April 18, 2024, at 88.

Marcus was preceded in death by his late wife, Louise Bassford, and his stepson, Ron Morris.

He was a dedicated husband to Barbara; excellent father to Michael Bassford & Stacey Hosegood, 3 stepsons'; Tom Morris, Robert Morris, and Berry Houston; loving grandfather to 13 grands and 8 great grands Child of God, die hard Dreadnaught since 1953, avid Gator fan and the biggest giver ever.

He left a legacy of hard work and generosity that touched many people over the years.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 10 am at Scott Lake Baptist Church, 5811 Scott Lake Rd, Lakeland, FL 33813, with services to follow at 11 am. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Burial Park following the services.
