Luann C. Riebman

December 15, 1955 — December 16, 2018

Luann Riebman (Tina Johnson), age 63, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2018 after a long illness. Tina was born on December 15, 1955 to Patricia and Clayton Johnson of Peoria, Illinois. She graduated from Woodruff High School in 1973 and earned an RN with a specialty in pediatrics from Illinois Central College. Tina lovingly cared for countless children during her 38 years of nursing, including years in neo-natal ICU and nurse for a juvenile detention center. Tina carried that love of babies and children to the animal world. She rescued a furless baby squirrel from a Florida hurricane, fed it with a syringe, and raised it as a pet. She also tended to the broken wing of a dove in her yard, and it walked around her house with her cats. She left behind two dogs and three cats. Tina was truly an “animal whisperer.” Tina married Ronald Riebman, a Vietnam veteran, who preceded her in death. She has a step-daughter, Cathy Riebman of Texas and three step-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her father, Clayton Johnson and brothers-in-law, Jon Blunk and James Lemm. Tina is survived by her partner of 15 years, Thomas Bonadio; her mother, Patricia Johnson, of Dunlap, Illinois; sisters, Linda Blunk of Mishawaka, IN and Terri Lemm of Hanna City, IL; and her brother, David Johnson, (Cindy) of Inverness, IL; as well as six nieces and nephews and their four children. A celebration of life will be held at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria, Illinois, in February (date to be announced). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Specialty Care, 3310 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33805.
