Lois Floyd Jenkins

Lois Floyd Jenkins, 95, of Lakeland, FL passed away Friday morning, May 7, 2021 at Valencia Hills Nursing Home in Lakeland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Southside Baptist Church of Lakeland with Rev. Bill McCabe and Rev. Wallace Barber officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. before the service. Interment will follow at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Wimauma, FL. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Laurens County, Georgia on December 26, 1925, to the late Ivey (Doc) and Ruth Floyd. She was preceded in death by her first husband Curtis Clark. She married A. B. Jenkins, Sr. in 1961. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Clark; son and daughter-in-law Russell and Betty Clark; and three brothers, John B. Floyd, Talmadge Floyd, and Robert B. Floyd. Mrs. Jenkins was also preceded in death by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Stella Clark, Springhill, FL; Michael and Joan Brown, Spring Hill, FL; Terry and Darlene Jenkins, North Carolina; Al and Terry Jenkins, Valrico, FL and Gladys Barber, Lenox GA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jenkins was a lady of faith and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland where she was very active. She moved to Florida in 1955 and there served at the Wimauma Baptist Church for a number of years as secretary. She loved to sing, cook for her family and tell everyone about Jesus. She and her husband, A. B. sang in a quartet for several years. Her Family was the center of her life, but she loved everyone and had a sweet Christian spirit.
