Linda Edenfield Innes, 71, a native of Lakeland, died Sunday morning after a long struggle with Alzheimer""s disease. After graduating from Lakeland High, Linda attended Stetson University and University of Florida until she married. She lived many places during her full life, including Rhode Island, California, Virginia, Missouri, Georgia and Florida. Linda was a supportive Navy wife for many years, later working outside the home using her many talents as a home decorator and caring for children. Her passion was raising show and pleasure horses, mostly American Saddlebreds and Arabians. Linda""s home was always open to everyone and full of friends, whether two or four legged. Her easiness and generosity made her ""mom"" to many more than just her own children and a friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Betty Edenfield; her former husband, Henry E. Innes; and her partner, Lee Langworthy. Survivors include her sister, Nancy Sawyer (Harry); her children, Trudy Innes Richardson (Stuart) and Amie Innes Buckner (Brad); her grandchildren Ian Innes Cook and Annabelle and Dorothy Buckner; her nephew Claude ""Trey"" Harden (Terri); her niece Melanie Harden; Mr. Langworthy""s siblings and children, and a host of other friends who shared her life and her home through the years. The family would like to thank the many caregivers who have genuinely loved and cared for Linda; especially at the Veranda in Georgia, Grace Manor at Lake Morton in Lakeland, and her nurse Norma and Leslie along with the other nurses at Home Healthcare Hospice. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be given to Good Shepherd Hospice (115 S. Missouri Ave, Lakeland) or the Alzheimer""s Association (520 S. Fla. Ave, Lakeland).
