Lawrence McNeill, 88 Lakeland- Mr. Lawrence McNeill, a member of one of Florida""s Pioneer families, died September 2nd, 2013 at the age of 88 of complications from infections. He was the son of the late Walter McNeill and Rachel McNeill and was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Betty Ann Bryant McNeill his sisters Rachel Rand and Barbara Yow. He is survived by his daughter Anne Olliff (husband Lamar) sons; Lance McNeill (wife Angie) and Mark McNeill of Lakeland. He is also survived by two grandchildren Taylor and Cason McNeill along with several nieces and nephews. He graduated from Lawrenceville Prep School and the University of Florida BA and Law School. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, active in many civic organizations, the Boys Club was one of his favorites. He was a long standing member of the Florida Council of 100. He lived life to the limits, loved nature and the out-of doors, golfing, tennis, hunting and fishing. He did not know a stranger; he liked people and enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone but family was the most important thing in life. He loved his children and supported them in all endeavors. Every Father""s Day, Betty Ann would say that the best gift she ever gave her children was selecting Larry as their father. Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Florida on Thursday September 5th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.
