Kathleen Forehand Betz

Kathleen Forehand Betz (Kay) died peacefully on 2/20/25 at LRMC. She had suffered a severe stroke. 

Kay was a lifelong resident of Lakeland. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, most recently as a member of the Altar Guild. Kay was employed by The Mosaic Company. Kay loved animals. She loved horseback riding and took advantage of every opportunity to ride. Kay raised and trained Labrador Retrievers most of her adult life. She participated in many show competitions winning several ribbons. The dog community was a big part of her life!

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Cooper and Polly Forehand. She is survived by her sister, Ann Forehand of Clemmons, NC; Sister Mary Geary of Lakeland, FL; Brother Foster Forehand (Nancy) of Green Cove Springs, FL. She is also survived by extended family members and many friends.

A celebration of Kay’s life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:00am in the chapel of First United Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
